Part I：單詞與短語
mad adj.發(fā)瘋的；
aeroplane n.飛機；
drive sb. mad(動詞短語)把某人逼瘋；
passing planes過往的飛機；
come into use(動詞短語)投入使用；
drive sb. away(動詞短語)把某人趕走；
noise n.噪音；
leave vi.留下，剩下；
knock down(動詞短語)擊倒；
offer vt.提供；
a large sum of money一大筆錢；
be determined to do sth 決心做某事；
probably adv.很可能
Part II：語法學習
1.動詞的ing形式
前面講過，動詞的ing形式可以在句子中起到多種語法作用，這里將重點談討它們在進行時中在系動詞be的配合下作謂語的作用和作定語的作用。
示例1：Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad.(在are的配合下，driving成為了謂語動詞的一部分)
示例2：Passing planes can be heard night and day.(作planes的定語)
示例3：Sometimes I think this house will be knocked down by a passing plane.(作plane的定語)
2.被動語態(tài)
前面也講過了，這里再作深化
示例1：Passing planes can be heard day and night.(飛機與聽到的關系是被動的)
示例2：The airport was built years ago.(機場與建造的關系是被動的)
示例3：For some reason, it could not be used then.(it就是指機場，它與使用的關系是被動的)
示例4：Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise.
