專四英語之形容詞近義詞辨析

　　accurate, exact, precise, right, true, correct 這些形容詞均含“準(zhǔn)確的，正確的”之意。

　　accurate ：指通過謹(jǐn)慎的努力達(dá)到符合事實(shí)或?qū)嶋H，側(cè)重不同程度的準(zhǔn)確性，與事實(shí)無出入。

　　eg: He has made an accurate measurement of my garden.

　　他準(zhǔn)確地丈量了我的花園。

　　exact ：著重在質(zhì)與量方面的準(zhǔn)確，語氣比accurate強(qiáng)。

　　eg: 1.Please give me your exact age.

　　請把你的確切年齡告訴我。

　　2.His memory is very exact; he never makes mistakes.

　　他的記憶非常準(zhǔn)確, 從不出錯(cuò)。

　　precise ：側(cè)重極端準(zhǔn)確，更強(qiáng)調(diào)細(xì)節(jié)的精確無誤。

　　eg: A scientist must be precise in making tests.

　　科學(xué)家做試驗(yàn)必須精確。

　　right ：使用廣泛，可與correct換用，但常暗示道德、理解、行動(dòng)等方面的正確。

　　eg: He gave the right answer.

　　他做出了正確的回答。

　　true ：暗指絕對準(zhǔn)確，尤指復(fù)制品與原件絲毫不差。

　　eg: 1.The story must be true, for I read it in the newspaper.

　　這個(gè)故事準(zhǔn)是真的, 因?yàn)槟鞘俏以趫?bào)上看到的。

　　2.Is it true that he has left London?

　　他已離開了倫敦的消息屬實(shí)嗎?

　　correct ：最常用詞，主要指按一定標(biāo)準(zhǔn)或規(guī)則來衡量，沒有謬誤和差錯(cuò)或無缺點(diǎn)錯(cuò)誤。

　　eg: The thing turned out to be correct.

　　這事證實(shí)是對的。
