　　White Day is a day celebrated in Japan on March 14, one month after Valentines Day. It is also observed in South Korea.

　　在日本，情人節(jié)后的一個月，也就是3月14日，便是白色情人節(jié)。韓國同樣如此。

　　In Japan, Valentines Day is observed by females who present chocolate gifts (either store-bought or handmade), usually to a male, as an expression of love, courtesy or social obligation. A handmade chocolate is usually preferred by the receiver, because it is a sign that the receiving male is the girls "only one".

　　在日本，情人節(jié)的時候通常是女性送巧克力給男性，以表達(dá)自己的愛意、禮貌或者社交義務(wù)。巧克力可以是店里買的，或者自己親手做的。對于收巧克力的人來說更希望收到手工巧克力，因為這代表了自己是女孩心中的唯一。

　　On White Day, the converse happens: males who received a honmei-choco ("chocolate of love") or giri-choco ("courtesy chocolate") on Valentines Day are expected to return the favor by giving gifts, usually more expensive. Sometimes the term sanbai gaeshi (literally, "triple the return") is used to describe the generally recited rule that the return gift should be two to three times the cost of the Valentines gift.

　　而在白色情人節(jié)這天，事情就要倒一倒了。情人節(jié)時收到本命チョコ(表達(dá)愛意的巧克力)或者義理チョコ(出于禮貌的巧克力)的男士需要在這一天還禮作為報答，通常送的東西得比收到的更貴。有時大家會用“三倍返し”(三倍返還)這么一個短語來表達(dá)普遍存在的潛規(guī)則，也就是說還禮的禮物要比情人節(jié)收到的禮物貴上2-3倍。
